March Meeting Recap: Building Strong GC Connections
THANK YOU SPONSOR!
Our March 18 dinner meeting,“ Building Strong GC Connections: Project Management Strategies for Landscape Contractors,” delivered valuable, real-world insights for landscape professionals.
Led by MALP member Keith Riquinha, Vice President of Production & Operations at Xquisite Landscaping, attendees gained a practical look into how strong relationships with general contractors( GCs) can directly impact project success. Drawing from decades of hands-on experience, including work on complex, large-scale construction projects, Keith shared proven strategies for managing projects efficiently while maintaining clear, consistent communication with GC partners.
The session highlighted how effective coordination and proactive communication can significantly reduce conflicts, keep schedules on track, and improve overall jobsite efficiency. Attendees also explored how building trust with GCs can lead to increased repeat business, stronger partnerships, and improved profitability.
Members walked away with actionable takeaways they can immediately apply in the field – whether it’ s refining project workflows, strengthening on-site collaboration, or positioning their company as a reliable, go-to partner on complex landscape construction projects.
One of the greatest strengths of the MALP community is the opportunity to share ideas, tools, and resources that help us run better, more efficient businesses.
With AI and technology evolving so quickly, it’ s easy to feel overwhelmed. That’ s why we’ re excited to introduce new member and March dinner meeting sponsor, Bizzen— a platform designed to simplify operations and help landscape companies work smarter.
We asked Bizzen founder, Jordan Hayashi, to explain how their solution supports landscape businesses:
“ For most landscape businesses, a surprising amount of time is spent on the work around the work: writing field notes, building estimates, tracking job details, following up on invoices, and answering calls. Whether it’ s the sales rep, an office manager, or your field teams, those hours add up.
Instead of spending hours organizing notes and writing estimates, Bizzen is built to automate that layer of the business. Your team records a walkthrough video on-site, and Bizzen turns it into structured notes and a client-ready estimate in minutes.
Bizzen can also answer calls, qualify leads, send invoices, and keep jobs organized, so nothing falls through the cracks.
The focus is simple: help your team save time, stay organized, and respond to opportunities faster— without adding more to their plate.”
