Snow Readiness Meeting Draws Big Crowd
Nearly 100 snow and ice management professionals gathered at MALP’ s September 30 meeting for an informative and timely presentation focused on preparing crews and operations for the winter season ahead.
From preseason planning and equipment readiness to crew communication, safety protocols and storm-day decision-making, J. P. emphasized that successful snow operations begin long before the first flakes fall. His straightforward approach highlighted the importance of clearly defined responsibilities, consistent procedures and a well-prepared team.
Of particular value was J. P.’ s willingness to share real-world insights from Peronne Landscape’ s own operations: what works, why it matters and how other contractors can apply similar practices to their businesses.
The strong turnout reflected the importance of snow and ice management to landscape professionals throughout the region, as well as the value of learning from colleagues who understand the day-to-day realities of the industry.
Featured speaker John-Paul( J. P.) Sanieski, Director of Commercial Accounts at Perrone Landscape in Holden, MA, brought more than 26 years of industry experience to the discussion. Drawing on his extensive background in snow and ice management, J. P. offered a practical, behind-the-scenes look at how his company prepares for and manages the challenges of winter operations.
Many thanks to J. P. Sanieski and Peronne Landscape for generously sharing their expertise and to our meeting sponsors, Elite Insurance and Turf Products Corporation, for their support of this important educational program.
As winter approaches, the evening offered a valuable reminder: preparation, communication and teamwork are essential to keeping crews safe, customers satisfied and operations running smoothly throughout the season.
