I started Malone magazine as a way of helping put local residents in touch with local business . Any time I wanted someone , from a tradesman to a window cleaner or a solicitor , I found that the internet is great for giving a long list of everyone out there but not so good at helping choose which would be best . Who is local ? Who would do a small job ? Who would do a big job ? Who is reliable ? Etc .
That is where Malone magazine can help and we currently have a list of 870 businesses and nonprofit organisations in 110 categories ( just counted them !).
Some have said they are too busy to advertise , some have said they don ’ t have funds to advertise , some only do big jobs and some are close to retirement . Nevertheless we can help point you in the right direction for almost anything you want and have helped a number of local residents with recommendations .
Last month we made a slight change to our model and , instead of relying on advertisements , we put in 2 Half Pages of our own . 1 if you need
6 LOCAL NEWS Watches , Comedy , bridge , Thefts , Glider bus & Female leaders 7 COVID NEWS Restrictions 27th Nov - 11th Dec 8 GOVERNANCE Councillor Contact details
christopher @ malonemag . com a joiner ( see Page 9 ) and 1 if you need an electrician ( see Page 15 ). These proved popular and we have already helped readers get what they need .
So … If you can ’ t find what you are looking for within the pages of this issue , just ask and we will try to help . Email is best because it allows us to work quicker but , if you are not happy with email , you can still call me ( mobile number is in the left hand column ).
There is a particular rush for Boiler servicing with the arrival of colder weather and our recommended heating engineers do have waiting lists but we should be able to find someone to help soon .
In the meantime , we all await decisions on what restrictions will be in place over Christmas so here is hoping the dreaded COVID reduces enough to allow us to gather with family & friends . Gov update expected by 11th Dec .
