HOW TO SURVIVE THE SEASON OF SHOPPING:
?
Wear comfortable shoes. You’ll probably walk a marathon on Black Friday and Small
Business Saturday.
?
Dress warm in easily shed-able
layers. Chances are (if you get to the store
or mall when it opens) you’ll be standing
outside for quite some time. Once you’re
inside however, you’ll be on the move and
you’ll warm up fast. A quick unzip should be
all it takes for you to remove your garments. These days are super fast pace!
?
Carry small bills and quarters. In case you have to pay for parking, get a cup of coffee or
rent a locker. The less you carry, the better.
?
Consider a fanny pack or a wallet that you can wear around your neck or inside your
shirt. Where there is high traffic, there is
unfortunately high theft. Don’t be a victim.
?
Leave your children (and your elderly) at home. The
shoppers that come out on these days are aggressive
as they are on a mission. They don’t care as much
about the safety of the people in their path as they
would on any other occasion.
?
If going to Walmart, go after 10AM…NOT at 8PM on Thanksgiving. It dies down quite a
bit and all the monsters have gotten what they needed and gone home. Walmart is
smart. Believe me, they’ve got enough to go around. And if they don’t, the $50 you
saved isn’t worth getting trampled over.
