Visit old relatives. The elderly love warmth. You can actually get them outside and mobile in July. Hey, maybe they might even want to engage society in a fun way with you if outside isn't horrible. Hanging with old relatives can be enlightening and they have a lot of things to say that aren't regularly heard. You can become a vessel for knowledge from previous generations gathered over a lifetime which will, in turn, make you a cooler old relative one day.
Do some yardwork. This is usually avoided like a straight answer by a politician but it can be immensely beneficial and rewarding. Cleaning up your house, catching some sun, feeling good about honest work and a reason to celebrate at the end of the day are just a couple benefits of a solid day of yardwork.
Watch horror movies. Slashers are never active during the winter months and that stark reality can kill the entertainment value of a good horror flick. Watching one in the summer and staying up all night, peering into the dark parts of your neighborhood adds a lot to the emotional ride.
Snorkle. Do more than casually swim through your local body of water, snorkle through it and really catch sight of some wonderful things. There's a lot of life in places you wouldn't expect. It's a fascinating world down there well worth your attention.
Chalk up your sidewalk. Draw all over the usually bland ground with brilliant hues. Make a hopscotch pathway or write a novel on concrete. No matter what, it's going to be enjoyable.
Slip and slide. This is an eternally valid activity for all forms of warm weather. Everyone can get in on the excitement of kareening through shallow puddles of water on the way to the big splash.
Build a fort. Whether it's for you or for your kids or for your parents, building a fort can be a great bonding activity and a testament to independence.
