CROSSFIRE
At that junction of many roads , ask for direction from people who have taken the routes before . And because there are many roads , you need to ask for a good road that leads you to your destiny . Most people may stop but use their judgment or ask the wrong people on which road to follow . Indeed that may end up taking them in the wrong direction . Old ways are ways that have been tried and tested and confirmed good .
According to the Bible , the third step is to walk in the good way as advised . The first mistake we sometimes make at crossroads , as we have seen , is that we don ’ t stop , look , or ask . The other mistake we make is that we don ’ t walk the right way as advised . We are not always willing to walk a good way because it may not be desirable in our own eyes . But the Bible says that if you take that good way and walk in it , you will find rest for your soul .
Rest for your soul means that the direction you take has aligned with your destiny . You reach that inward satisfaction that the decision you finally make has been agreed
“ How we react and where we get our navigation tools from determines how long you stay at the crossroads and the direction you ultimately take going forward ..”
upon by both your mind and feelings . When we don ’ t know how to make a decision or face a situation of indecision , we engage both the mind and emotions . Sometimes the mind may agree , but the feeling is not just right with that particular decision . That dissonance does not give you rest . It troubles you because you are never sure the decision you made was the right one .
But if the process is that simple , why do we feel lost or indecisive for a long time when faced with situations that need self-guidance and direction ? The main reason primarily is that our minds and emotions are not agreeable . The mind uses worldly logic , but our feelings bring out our inward fears , which we can ’ t place a figure on it . So , we get defiant . The Bible in Jeremiah 6 : 16 says that even when you get advice on a good way , you said , “ we will not walk in it .” That means you know the right thing , the right road , but you won ’ t take it .
During this pandemic , or when you face a patch in life that makes you feel helpless in harnessing and commanding your will and energy to progress , don ’ t give up or wander in that wilderness for long . Just stand , look , and ask for the old way that has been tried and tested ; walk in it boldly with a unified mind and soul . And you will indeed find rest . ■
