LAST WORD ridiculous one should stop and reflect on how depraved our society has become and how scandalous information available on the social media has become the norm .

The information shared and forwarded on social media platforms depicts a society that is losing its soul and the rot paraded therein is a direct affront on families . The problem is that bad behavior has been glamourized because it involves celebrities who in Kenya includes slay governors .

In a civilized society what is currently available online should be sufficient ground for resignation by many public personalities . Their careless hedonistic behavior is pure poison for impressionable young people who will copy such deplorable behavior because it is modeled by their leaders .

Men behaving badly by flaunting their wealth and their trophy slay queens seem totally oblivious of the damage that this callous behavior has on their families and especially the embarrassed wives who have to keep face on media spotlight .

Governors , who in Kenya have become demi-gods , are in the forefront of this insidious behavior and one can only imagine the pain and shame of several first ladies

Given our now fashionable laissez faire cultural attitudes one begins to wonder if we have not taken giant steps backwards in terms of social cohesion and respectability . How did we shift so fast from the ultra-conservative values of yesterday to today ’ s disintegrating moral fabric ?

But in Kenya there seems to be a separate code of conduct and legal system for the rich , even if the riches are stolen . In fact there is no such thing as a rich Kenyan thief . You are a thief if you steal chicken or goats but if you steal millions of public money you are an overnight celeb .

Then there was the governor who treated us to homemade movies on love and deceit . Given that the said governor has dabbled in the film making industry , it may not be very clear if what he is starring in is a
