Avocado is Bae, Here comes
2019 and the stupid ideas
will continue thriving
In the last issue we looked at the reason
why the phrase, ‘Avocado is bae’ makes
sense, it took us through the journey of
Bae which literally means ‘Before Anyone
Else’ and the craze for the fruit that has
seen it being one of the most sought
after commodities in the decade. As
a result, it gained in value at the global
market tremendously even when the
crypocurencies such as Bitcoins whose
value was also being driven up by the
millennial generation crushed in value
towards 2019.
My cool hunters later found out in very
serious nutrition content literature that
avocado is also referred to as the ‘testical
tree’ as a testament of some of its less
acknowledged potency and the more
reason why its ‘bae’.
We bundled the “Avocado is Bae story” with
the “science of stupid” to draw our readers
attention to the power of stupid ideas. We
were focusing on the ‘Contrarian thinking’
concept which is mainly about going
against common wisdom or the grain,
zagging while everyone else is zigging and
vice versa. While we look at the marketing
trends in 2019 we see opportunities in
modern data driven marketing and digital
marketing as we see it bringing back the
good old days by going back to basics
Looking good can give you a double digit
percent advantage in accessing opportuni-
ties in life and in any profession. Since part
of it is inborn, research shows that investing
in your looks is what increases your chances
to get further in life. It applies to both men
and women with some cases favoring men
while others favor women. In 2019 and be-
yond purpose to spend more time in front of
the mirror, have a good stylist, hit the gym,
eat well, manage your weight, polish your
social skills because it pays. Remember, in
Erotic capital the winner takes all.

of recognizing customer as king and
customer satisfaction. At the end of the
day as Tom Peters stated, the purpose of
any business is to have a customer.
In addition, we were pleasantly surprised
by how some people have made ridiculous
amounts of money from selling stupid
ideas like the Pet Rock that made US
$15 million profits in the first six months,
just a rock that’s well packed as a pet. We
are even more persuaded by the words of
Winston Churchill that a joke is a very
serious thing; we can add that so is a
stupid idea.
The Teenage Decade
is over, Lets Embrace
Complementarity over
Competition
2019 marks the end of the teenage decade
which yours truly predicted it will bring
surprises in the world in its adolescence.
Globally, we saw the Brexit vote and
Trump winning the US elections among
other surprises. Locally we saw the hand
shake and other surprising political
innovations. Digital disruptions also
happened politically and in marketing too
with tech savvy ICT technician claiming a
part of the marketing pie. This column has
consistently advocated for handshakes
between marketing professionals and
other professions for the best of both
worlds effect based on the premise that
complementarity will always trump
competition.
