four reactions? If you feel bored, or demotivated with what you do it is most probable that you have more energy than the role(s) you play. If you are stressed and tend to complain about the pressure of your work, you probably have less energy than what your role requires. The real value of life begins when you discover these natural strengths and are comfortable with who you as a gift to humanity. The human person is however a work in progress till they die and therefore is constantly developing habits that make up their character. These habits enable one to gain trust, influence positively and lead ethically for the good of all. The 21st Century will be marked by men and women who know themselves, are open to learning from others and adapt fast to disruptions both from within and without. Having said this, I must end with a shout out to a group of individuals least understood in a World that is constantly focused on the external - The Introverts. The greens and blues are introverts in their search for energy and meaning from within. This group of individuals are a gift to the rest who don’t stop to listen to others or are so bogged down by performance and success that they rarely ask why they are doing what they are doing. Management and Leadership positions still fall by default to extroverts (reds and yellows) and overlook the strengths of quiet leadership. Greens and blues strive to create harmony, harness the strengths of others and lead well through others making sure they remain silent and hidden. The modern workplace continues to remove hierarchical structures that defined authority in the past and is embracing empowering others and collaboration in achieving results through others. Which colors are then best placed to flourish in the 21st Century's workplace? My coaching style focusses on discovering oneself deeper beyond the behaviors seen by everyone to unravelling the beliefs, the values, the attitudes and the Worldview that are underneath one's surface.
