• Along the line there may be challenges. These often times stem from the fears one has about a transition of this kind. What are these fears? Imagine what would happen if those fears did not exist? What would you be able to do then? • What about the things that you need to be successful? Would that be a mentor or visiting a similar business? Is it knowledge? Would it be a great CV or building networking skills if you are looking for formal employment? • What will it take for you as a person to succeed? Patience? Resilience? Determination? How will you build these skills? Remember that what works for one person may or may not work for another. You have to find your own path, your own way. Work with a coach to help you figure out your direction. Make informed choices based on your strengths and talents. Live your life and most of all be happy. Enjoy every minute. Life is too short to just work!! Steve Jobs said, ‘Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.’ Thrity Engineer-Mbuthia is a Certified Executive Coach, Trainer and Marketing Consultant.
