Writing about positive experiences is a fun and simple ritual to implement in your life: just take a small notebook and dedicate one moment a day to write down three things you loved doing that day. Personally, I love to do this just before I go to sleep; this brings my mind to rest with joy and it also has a positive impact on the way I wake up the next day!

Create a Family Moment to Talk About Positive Experiences

In my children's book Maks & Mila On a Special Journey, I use a SECRET SUITCASE to guide you and your family to think about, share and 'store' your positve experiences. It's real fun and easy to make your own SECRET SUITCASE and to use it as a tool to share your positive

experiences. Ask your children to draw or write about their best moments that week -- and write them down yourself as well! -- give everyone a turn to share and 'store' them in the SECRET SUITCASE!

Make it a Family Ritual

Children -- and adults too -- learn from experience and repetition. Imagine you want to learn to swim. The first time you try, are you immediately a good swimmer? And if you don't continue to practice, will you become better? No, you probably won't, and that's exactly why it is so important to make it a ritual to keep 'filling' our SECRET SUITCASE as well. This ritual, will increase our (children's) level of confidence, boost our physical health, build our resilience, make us feel happier and more content AND it guarantees many beautiful family moments!

"Can you think of something nice you did today? Let's put it in our SECRET SUITCASE, it will make us happy along the way" -- Maks & Mila On a Special Journey
