EDUCATOR SPOTLIGHT

AgriLife Extension agents and specialists deliver research-based educational programs and solutions for all Texans. In this newsletter our Educator Spotlight is Agent Fralonda Anderson-Aubrey.

fAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES

Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) provides outreach education to strengthen families. Health & wellness programs are dedicated to prevention and management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer prevention, asthma and obesity.

HORTICULTURE

Horticulture provides outreach for the commercial & residential horticulture programs. Agents work with homeowners, municipal utility districts, grounds maintenance professionals, landscapers, and nursery professionals.

4-H & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

4-H provides hands-on learning experiences for youth in leadership, citizenship and service. Educational efforts are organized in local communities and in partnership with local school districts.

COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Community Economic Development (CED) places educational emphasis on strategic planning, business developing, risk management, policy analysis and market analysis.

COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Extension programs in Harris County are available to all of its citizens and are designed to assist with a numbered of educational initiatives. 4-H: Educational experiences focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics (STEAM), workforce development, natural resources, livestock and community and civic engagement.

FCS: Nutrition education programming focuses on improving nutrition, family meal planning, food budgeting, food safety and increasing physical activity.
