STEP 3 : |

Once the outside is ready , time for the inside ! Fill your container
with as many items as you can fit . We ’ ve included examples of care
package items below to help inspire you , but be warned – in order
to be eligible for space travel , the package MUST abide by the
following rules :
1 Food is only allowed if : a ) it doesn ’ t spoil very quickly , so fresh fruit and stinky cheese aren ’ t allowed ; and b ) it doesn ’ t produce
crumbs – that means no crisps and no crumbly cookies . This
is because crumbs float around in zero gravity and get inside
electrical components .
2 Liquids are allowed but they must not be in a pressurised container , so no Coke cans and no canned squirty cream , sorry !

have received in their care packages
include :
– Magazines
– CDs and DVDs
– Cotton socks
– Skittles sweets
– Poetry books

3 The total care package weight cannot exceed 5 kg . |

STEP 4 :
Finish off your care package by include a postcard or a letter to
encourage your astronaut – after all , they ’ ve probably got a few
more months of space travel to go ! Then , weigh your package to
Brightness make sure it ’ s below 5 kg , and write the total weight ( known as
the payload mass ) on the top . Your care package is now ready to
go to space !
