Lily Bay has two camping areas with 90 campsites , a sand beach for swimming , a playground , boat ramps , and a 2-mile walking trail with easy terrain and beautiful views . Greenville is a well-known fall destination for leaf-peepers when the leaves change to their gorgeous red and orange hues . It ’ s also home to Mount Kineo and its stunning 800-foot cliffs . Though it looks daunting from the base , it ’ s a fairly easy hike to the top . The two trails to the summit are well-maintained , well-marked , and very accessible making it a great adventure for all ages . On your way back down , take in the views and relax at one of many picnic areas or treat yourself to a round of golf at Mount Kineo golf course . Mount Kineo can be accessed by boat from the nearby town of Rockwood .

Katahdin cruises
Katahdin Cruises invites you to experience the history and heritage of the Moosehead Lake Region aboard KATAHDIN for a leisurely steamboat cruise . Nicknamed “ The Kate ,” this steamboat was built in 1914 by the Bath Iron Works shipyard and is a local treasure . Similar steamboats carried passengers , livestock , mail , supplies , and equipment to resorts and camps around the lake .
Cruises take place from June to October so you can watch the fireworks from the steamboat or take in the breathtaking foliage in the fall . Visit the Moosehead Marine Museum to learn about the region ’ s marine and lumbering tradition and browse various artifacts from days past .
