4 Alisia Roman Nicole came from a home where she wasn't loved My family took her in so that she would be loved I loved her most I loved her more than a companion or pet I even loved her more than my best friend She comforted me when I was sad And acted like she understood me In return, I let her sleep in my room, even when it wasn't allowed And let her out of the cage when she cried We went through a whole lot together When we moved, we learned the new environment together. But on a cold day one day She met a sick possum And caught his disease. Her body became paralyzed within the next few days And her insides had begun to shut down But she was still full of life She still wanted to move around But she knew she was sick She never wanted to be left alone And I never left her side I was still petting her when she was euthanized I saw the life leave her eyes My family mourned over her But I was hurt the most Because she was my closest friend.
