Maine Motif Issue 3, Vol. II (Spring 2018) | Page 43

another enjoyable session in tackling this issue, along with Revisiting Rubrics with Dr. Philip Edelman. As a new teacher in the area, I know these sessions will be high on my priority list to make sure I am grading my classroom in a way that shows my student’s prowesses best! Curriculum is also something that is extremely important in the general music setting. This topic will be addressed by speakers such as Adrian St. Pierre, who will be presenting about rethinking our music appreciation classes, which can also be applied to all general music environments. We will also feature a film music session with Renovia Day, who will be speaking about both curriculum and technology, and can help beef up the curriculum of even the most seasoned teacher. With these two sessions, the 2018-2019 school year can look brighter then ever! Looking ahead, we have an exciting All-State ahead of us in all departments, and I am proud to have helped with these preparations. Finally, I would like to thank all of you that filled out the survey, as it has helped greatly in deciding our session lineup for this year. Be on the look out for another survey in the fall, and from myself and my Co-Vice President at the festival: Hope to see you there!
