I have a lot of my own ideas, but what I really want to do is to collaborate
with all of you. I know there are people with exciting ideas whose
professional and personal obligations keep them from running for leadership
roles in MMEA. If you have a resource or idea to share, please get in touch
with me and we can work together to make it happen.

Fall Workshop:
This year’s Fall Workshop will be held September 30th in Augusta, ME and
will be led by Jonathan Rappaport, director of the Kodály Music Institute and
Arts|Learning. Keep an eye out for more information!

District 1 is comprised of 22 schools and over 120 teachers and hosts the
following festivals:
• The 6th Grade Honors Festival (March 11, 2017 at Bonny Eagle Middle

School for northern schools and Kennebunk Middle School for the southern
schools)
The Southern Maine Middle School Honors Festival (March 3-4, 2017 at
Westbrook Middle School)
