The Benefits to Having a
Wedding Band
When you have a live band at your wedding and
reception, there’s a good chance that you’ll have some
unexpected moments that will make the music more
memorable. For instance, if one of the musicians in the
band does a riff or solo that makes the crowd go wild, your
friends and family are more likely to remember this. You
can also request that the band play songs that are of
special significance to you and your spouse, such as songs
that are culturally important, or the first song that the two
of you danced to.
If you’re going with a live band, consider hiring a singer
with the band as well. Or, ask if some of the musicians also
sing. This can add another element of entertainment to
the musical aspect of your nuptials and breaks up the
monotony of having a band play instrumental selections.
You can hire the soloist to sing a special song as you enter
the wedding venue or to sing the words to the song
you’ve chosen for your first dance. Or, you can hire the
singer to have a concert at the reception that your friends
and loved ones will enjoy.
