Many Faces of the White Bear Lake Area is a collaboration with a goal of building community by connecting the many stories of our area through events that invite personal reflection , a broadened understanding of the community and neighborly interactions .
What is a Powwow ?
A pow wow , or what the original people of this area , the Dakota , would call a Wacipi , is a traditional Native American celebratory and ceremonial gathering that involves music , dancing and socializing . Join us to learn more about the tradition , protocols and opportunities for experiencing a powwow . We gratefully acknowledge the support of Minnesota ’ s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund for this event . Join the Mahtomedi Garden Club
Meet monthly ( Sept-April ) with fellow gardening enthusiasts in a club for people interested in gardening . Eight meetings are scheduled each year , five daytime and three evenings . Meetings are open to the public .
