Early Childhood Family Education ( ECFE )
Why ECFE ?
• ECFE builds on family strengths and supports families in their efforts to raise their infants , toddlers and preschool aged children .
• Classes strengthen family relationship and provide information and resources to parents .
• Families attend classes together to experience learning in a safe environment to prepare for preschool , kindergarten and the future .
• Classes are taught by licensed parent educators , licensed teachers and qualified teaching assistants .
• ECFE strives to build a strong partnership between home and school .
1 . Parent- Child Time
Parents and their children enjoy time together exploring planned learning activities prepared by a licensed early childhood teacher . They discover new ideas , songs , games and activities that can be repeated at home .
2 . CHILD ACTIVITY TIME
Children join a licensed early childhood teacher in learning activities and practicing social skills while parents are involved in a discussion group . Children enjoy art , stories , music , movement and more .
3 . PARENT DISCUSSION TIME
While children take part in activity time , parents meet in a group facilitated by a licensed parent educator , make connections , share information , ideas , and experiences related to child development and parenting .
