When and how did Soda Bomb form?
Taylor and Jon were in rival bands in the same high
school, but everyone quit so they joined forces and
made Soda Bomb in early 2012.
Where did the name come from?
Taylor was 16 and it sounded cool at the time.
What’s the process when you write
songs? Has this changed over time?
Sugar, spice and everything nice. Also locking
ourselves in an office not decorated since 1993.
What would you cite as the biggest
influences on you musically?
It started as us wanting to be a garage version of
Say Anything basically.
Lyrically, your songs seem to
deal with a general discomfort
about living. Was it tough to
write some of these things?
No, we actually laugh at our own lyrics and write them

wanna jaaaaam.
Latterman, Taking Back Sunday (they
were good once, ha!) etc. all originate
from Long Island. What’s the music

To be honest, it sucks ass. There's a lot of kids/ bands
that try way too hard to have the coolest merch and
having the heaviest Xibalba cover band. Also if you
don't have tank tops with big words on them and lyric
videos...you don't get shows.
What’s been the best experience
so far for Soda Bomb?
On Taylor's birthday we opened for The Gay Blades at
what we thought was one of Maxwell's (A cool ass venue
in New Jersey) last shows. Taylor got on stage with The
Gay Blades and did guest vocals. After the show, we all
sat on this pier and watched the NYC skyline at 2 am. It
was definitely a bonding moment for us. (We kissed)
And what’s been the nadir?
We played this show in New York City at this hole-inthe-wall b
