Magna Carta in Egham Project Report Magna-Carta-Report | Page 19

Strode’s College Models Keen not to limit our engagement with pupils and students to those studying history, we reached out to Strode’s College’s Art and Design Department and began working with lecturer Jim Brennan on a project for his Design and Technology students. Two groups were given separate briefs. One brief was to create models that would help tell the Magna Carta story, the other to create medieval style chests that could be used as set dressing and for storage, both for our pop-up exhibition in the United Church. Both groups were producing work that was assessed as part of their exams. The response was overwhelming. Every student, in both groups, signed up to the project and produced a model or chest (or similar). A selection of these were then exhibited in the United Church. The project was so successful that it is being repeated for the 2015/2016 intake of students. 19
