Magna Carta through Song
Egham Museum specially commissioned signer and songwriter Jenny Lockyer to produce four
Magna Carta themed educational songs. These include My Father, a song written from the
perspective of King John’s son, the future Henry III; Birds, a song that explores the impact of
John’s reign as felt by one family; America, looking at the relationship between liberty, Magna
Carta and American history; and Our Runnymede, a song of epic proportions that charts 800
years of the struggle for liberty.
