Dresses In The Ancient World
Dresses are mostly worn on fancy occasions. Not all the time though, because there are different types. Spring/ summer dresses are not typically for a fancy occasion or a party you might add. Women wearing dresses actually came about in ancient times. Egyptians wore dresses with shoulder straps some mostly only containing linen. Later on the dresses became more elaborate and colorful. Greek women wore peplos a rectangular type fold pinned together. They then later wore a long tunic called a chiton as well as cloaks. Roman women long dresses known as a stola.
