isn’t easy to write a good editorial, especially in English. Oh, you may ask yourself: why hasn’t she just written it in Czech then? There are three reasons
for that. Firstly, it is more original to write it in English and everybody at our school learns the language. Secondly, there was the international project Edison at our school in September, so it seems like a good idea to honour it with an editorial in English. And the third reason? You will understand it in the last paragraph.
This fall has seen a lot of interesting things happening at our school. Apart from the visit of the lovely Edison project people, we've been visited by Marcela Augustová, a host from the Czech Television, Ivana Červenková, a Czech ambassador in Austria, or Pavel Svoboda, a member of the European Parliament. We've had some sports achievements. We have also celebrated a hundred years of the Republic with various activities, and also at night with a lightshow. It was astonishing.
Now I would like to tell you what you can be looking forward to in this issue. The main theme of it is changes. For example, one of the result of changes is that our school is no longer pink. Another big theme of this magazine is cockroaches (švábi). Why? That you can read in an interview with Karolína Bodláková. Don’t worry, all of your favourite sections like scientific news, film reviews or a comix are there too.
It is time to explain the third reason why I wrote this editorial in English. Once again, we participated in a competition of the best school magazines. Last year the jury really didn’t like the fact that there is no foreign-language riddle or crossword in our magazine. Oh, how terrible! So I’ve made one for this editorial, so that they would have nothing to say about our magazine ever again. If you want to find the solution, you must assemble the bold and underlined letters. Well I wish you good luck and enjoy reading this magazine.
