MAGAZYN GDAŃSKI In July 2018, thanks to Industrial Development Agency (IDA), Stocznia Gdańsk (Gdańsk Shipyard) a legendary shipbuilding company, which in its over 70-year history has built over 1000 vessels for shipowners from around the world, has returned to Polish hands. Along with the stocks in Gdańsk Shipyard, IDA has acquired all shares of GSG Towers, a well-known wind tower manufacturer. The acquisition of enterprises has initiated the imple- mentation of the new development strategy for Gdańsk Shipyard and GSG Towers that aims to restore industrial potential and implement innovative technologies and products. To achieve the strategic goals, a new entity from the IDA Group has been introduced to the group constellation, i.e. – Baltic Operator, the company involved in the active management, optimization and de- velopment in the broadly understood international shipbuilding, offshore and wind industry, closely coopera- ting with Gdańsk Shipyard and GSG Towers. The new entity focuses in par- ticular on business development towards modern, complex products manufactured based on the best ava- ilable technologies and management techniques. In the new configura- tion, Baltic Operator operates as a leading entity in the group, enjoying the access to the quay, a modern assembly plate, one of the largest production halls in Europe, modern robotic welding lines and a large production area that allows us to fabricate constructions for shipbu- ilding, offshore (wind & gas), wind energy sector and transhipment infrastructure. 15
