Climate

The alpine climate is a lot like the Tundra and the Arctic biome. The alpine is cold and dry because of the high altitudes. It is one of the coldest biomes in the world. Over 16% of the earth’s surface is Alpine and Arctic climates. The summer temperature is between 50 -60 degrees fahrenheit and the average rainfall is 30 cm per year. At night the temperature usually falls below freezing. This climate is located in the mountains where trees cannot grow.

Vegetation

There are mainly wild flowers and short bush plants in the Alpine the vegetation is composed of grasses,sedges, herbs,and an abundance of flowers. One plant that is commonly found is Silky Phacelia.
