A French dish from our region: the carbonnade flamande .
We have chosen this dish because we love it ! It's
so delicious .
The carbonade flamande is composed with : some
delicious beer, of some gingerbread for the
easiest otherwise simply some stale bread and
some mustard.
At the origin It was more a dish for farmers or
poor people but now it's more for all category of
population.
I have already made this dish and it's very easy to cook it.
In all restaurants in the north of France we can find it because it's very typicall of
our region and if there are no carbonnade flamande in a restaurant, is not a good
restaurant. So if you have find our dish, you are very good because, to find this
dish, you should be a "ch'ti" (inhabitants from the north of France and be) .

A custom from our region: The “Braderie de Lille”
There are between 2 and 3 million of http://www.bugnicourt.fr/uploads/pics/
visitors because it is the oldest one in
Europe. It takes place in the North of
France, in Lille at the end of summer
(the first weekend of september). This
event attracts a lot of tourists from all
over Europe.
By the way, there is a tradition, the day
of this event, we are used to eating a
typical French meal; “Les moules frites”. It is a

The custom begins with a long race, a
half marathon, on the saturday
morning.
We can walk around Lille and meet
some people called “Les Bradeux” who
are trying to sell a lot of objects like
antiquarian,games, books and other
things.
In the past the Monday was a public
holiday but unfortunatly it is not
