A French scientist: Louis Pasteur Louis Pasteur was a French chemist and microbiologist. He was born, on the 27th December 1822 in "Dole" in the "Jura" and he died on the 28th September 1895 in "Marnes-la-Coquette" in France. His feats: -He became Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1853 -He got the medal Rumford in 1856 -He found the vaccine against the chicken cholera -He found the vaccine against the rage -He found a vaccine against the coal illness And he accomplished many other things. He's so famous in France, there are museums about him, streets have his name, he "appears" in many works. We chose this man because he's very famous and he's one of the best French scientist. Vincent & Mohamed A local event: The party of nieulles is a local party which takes place every year in Armentières, in the North of France. All sorts of people go to this party but most of them are young people. During this party, the people throw nieulles (biscuits) and celebrities are invited, the Queen of nieulles comes and a concert is organized. The party always takes place during the second weekend of September, ceremony and events are organized there. There are also games for the young people.
