A Different Take on Classic Tales
Our third graders ’ production of Three Fractured Fairy Tales ( The True Tale of the Big Bad Wolf , The Pied Piper ’ s Odd Business , and Snow White and Aladdin ) delighted audiences at student matinee and parent performances . Not only did the boys act their hearts out , they also collaborated to cast , block , and create the scenic design . Top of the Rock and TODAY
In May , first graders visited the Top of the Rock to build on their knowledge of New York City landmarks and practice using cardinal directions . At the Top of the Rock , the boys used a compass rose to determine which direction they were facing and had the opportunity to identify the landmarks they had studied . As a special bonus , thanks to a class parent , the boys also toured the TODAY Show studio .
