Capstone Experience in Italy
The Class of 2024 ’ s 10-day Italian Study Tour began in Assisi , with a tour of the Basilica and a visit to the Tomb of Saint Francis . The boys and their teachers then explored Florence and Rome , sketching the masterpieces and sites they had been studying in their art history class , and deepening their understanding of the paintings , sculpture , and architecture . This year the group was also able to visit Vatican City ( pictured ).
Gbowee Peace Foundation
Sixth graders collaborated with Nobel Peace prize laureate Leymah Gbowee to raise money for the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa ’ s Bookbag Drive , an initiative that provides bookbags and supplies to high-achieving students in Ms . Gbowee ’ s native Liberia and in Ghana . The boys raised $ 1,200 for the foundation .
