APC Event : As Alumni Parents Council Co-Chair , Winnie was instrumental in securing guest speaker Margaret Hoover for the 2024 Frederic Whitney Wu ’ 14 Annual Lecture Series .
Committee on Community and Inclusion , has brought several events and notable speakers to the alumni community and eighth grade boys . The most recent APC event , held in May , was the Frederic Whitney Wu ’ 14 Annual Lecture Series . Winnie was instrumental in securing the guest speaker , Margaret Hoover , host of Firing Line with Margaret Hoover , for a stimulating , thoughtprovoking discussion of civil discourse as a civic responsibility .
EPILOGUE
A common thread runs through the many roles Winnie has assumed at Saint David ’ s : curiosity and care . She has brought the curiosity of an avid reader , lifelong learner , and all-around scholar to her work with the boys , faculty and staff , and alumni community . Coupled with the genuine care she demonstrates for all with whom she interacts , a better example of our school-year theme of kindness could not be found .
I wish our Timeless Librarian many fulfilling new chapters ahead - with her family , her foundation work , and in her ambition to write a children ’ s book or two … or three . And who knows , what else !
Winnie , you may be retiring from Saint David ’ s in your role as Upper School Librarian , but you leave an enduring imprint on the school , and will always remain an integral , highly-regarded , and loved member of this appreciative community . •
