The Georgia Public Safety Training Center announced on May 20 , 2021 , their new partnership with the College of Coastal Georgia to offer the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course at the College ’ s Camden Center located in Kingsland . On June 3 , 2021 , the Glynn County Commission announced the selection of Chief Jacques S . Battiste as Police Chief . Battiste retired as an FBI agent after 20 years of service to become the police chief for Xavier University in New Orleans . He holds a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and political science as well as a Juris Doctorate from Southern University and A & M College .
