Police Agencies among Most Transparent in Nation
Over the last few months , communities across the United States as well as Georgia have experienced protests and social unrest in response to perceived uses of excessive force by law enforcement officers .
The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police has publicly spoken out against incidents in which officers used excessive force as well as supportive of officers when they acted appropriately . Unfortunately , some people and organizations are using these isolated events of officers using excessive force to portray all officers as being the same and push arbitrary requirements on agencies .
The purpose of this article is to provide police leaders with information outlining processes that distinguish Georgia from other states .
