Dthis digital edition, you can read the highlights Dof the past few years from our FC Bayern members‘ magazine“ 51” in English for the first time, free of charge. The magazine is called“ 51” because the home of our club is Säbener Straße 51 in the heart of Munich. The stories you read here come straight from the headquarters of your club. Our roots are in Munich and Bavaria – but we want to be approachable and tangible for you around the globe. FC Bayern has been a cosmopolitan club from the very beginning. Even in the early years, we had coaches from abroad, from England, Holland, Hungary, international matches were also on the schedule early on, and since the 1960s, the club has repeatedly undertaken trips all over the world, often lasting weeks: to the USA, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Tunisia, Iran, Japan, and now our“ Audi Summer Tour” takes us to America or Asia year after year, last summer for example to South Korea for the first time. Football, sport in general, unites us: no matter which continent we live on.
Today FC Bayern has more than 510 fan clubs in 105 countries outside Germany. In New York, Shanghai and Bangkok, we are in contact with the fans in their respective home regions through our own offices, because we want to know what moves you, what is important to you. I hope you all enjoy reading this very special version of our magazine“ 51“. Highlights, background information and heroes from 125 years of FC Bayern, from Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Sepp Maier and Uli Hoeneß to Sammy Kuffour, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, Jamal Musiala and Aleksandar Pavlović: All of this is our unique success story, which we will continue to write with you, our fans.
