My name is Dylan Whitley and I was born on September 21, 1999. I’m pretty high energy, and I’m really into radio jingles. I like lead singers a lot, especially lead singers who are in bands that make high energy music!
I’ve been playing music since I was three years old. I started off with playing keyboard in the early 2000’s, and then I got a digital piano in 2008. I also make music on Garageband. Music is a big motivator for me, both listening to artists such as Lisa Fischer and Lisa Knowles, as well as making electronic music.
Food is also a big motivator for me! I love McDonalds as well as Timbits which are small, round, centres of donuts that come in many flavors! My favorite is chocolate!
Music is a huge motivator for me because it gives me energy. I met my first lead singer when I was 5 years old. Their names were Judy and David, who were lead singers in a kids TV show in the early 2000s. I am in my last year of high school and so school gets really hectic with assignments, exams, and deadlines for things. Music makes me feel less stressed about school and motivates me to keep going at school.
I am currently apart of a program called journalism offered by an organization called Autism Aspergers Friendship Society. In the journalism program, I interview people that I have an interest in. In the past, I have phone-interviewed Lisa Knowles, who is a Gospel singer as well as David Cummings, who is a Podcaster.
I really like it when lead singers say “okay okay okay” because it gives me a burst of energy! I also like songs that have lyrics that say, “come with me”, because when I was six, I first heard a song that had those words in it and ever since then, I was hooked!
I would really love to interview Lisa Fischer next. One day I hope to meet these people in person as phone interviews are no where near as amazing as meeting someone in person.
Another interest that I have is reading a sub-Reddit called “Today I Messed Up”. It has really funny stories about people messing up in their lives. My favorite story was about this guy who rolled down a very steep hill filled with rocks, in his sleeping bag! I also enjoy hanging out with my friend Phil every Friday and Sunday. We like to go over to his place and make music, and then we go to the pool, and then we get Timbits! I also enjoy going tobogganing with him in the winter.
I am also a fan of 80s beats, specifically into the drum machines as well as the synthesizers. Something else that I like doing is listening to traffic updates around Canada and the United States. My favorite mystical creatures are mermaids because they enjoy singing.
