Bert Baron Recaps the 2014
Advocacy Efforts of
Foster Children’s Day:
a summary of the
Foster Children’s Day
Episode on the Bert Baron
Show on WCTC 1450AM
by Heather O’Neil
For a number of years, Bert Baron has been a
strong advocate of the foster youth community.
One of the most notable parts of his advocacy is
when he dedicates his hour-long show to
Foster Children’s Day, one day in December
every year.
His show is broadcast on WCTC 1450AM, which
is heard all over the state of New Jersey. It is a
great opportunity to get the message out about
the unique backgrounds of those in the foster
care community, to a captive audience.
This year, Bert and I were joined, in studio, by
the two driving schools that helped me start a
scholarship program that gives free driving
lessons to those from foster care who have not
had access to driving lessons. Also, we were
joined by Kovid Faria, the new owner of
Designer Lighting and Fan, and his daughter.
We also were joined, via telephone, by
Jon D’Amore, Daniel Tiblets, and Dr. Greg
Manning.
Just contributing this hour of airtime to the
Foster Children’s Day cause makes such an
impact, but Bert Baron does not stop with that.
He goes the extra mile
for foster youth and other
groups in his daily life.
We have even had the
pleasure of having him as
a guest on an episode of
the Mag Blog Radio show,
earlier this year.
He is a true advocate
and I would like to take
this opportunity to thank
him from the bottom of
my heart.
