Painting
“Rings Around the Moon”
by Patrice Torrillo From Florida
I've been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. Everyday is
an opportunity to tell a new story. I have always felt the need to
express myself in a creative style. I began drawing cartoons. Inspired
and encouraged by my mom, I pressed on as I advanced my skills,
moving from cartoons to full portraits of people that I admired. I
progressed to create graphite, watercolor, and acrylic portraits of
movies stars and famous musicians.
My skills were polished in the art room in high school. After studying
advertising design in college, I worked as a paste up and graphic artist
for many years. Recently, I have been able to devote my days to
painting full time.
My desire to create has pushed my practice and perfected my craft
through hard work and countless hours of study.
My works range from portraits of people and animals, to landscapes
and florals. Each has its own magical feel that inspires the title behind
it. Many times this inspiration comes from music. All of my pieces are
titled after songs. For me it's not the finished piece, it's the journey to
get there. In the end its all worth it because when you look at my art my
heart and soul is looking back at you.
