A wedding, one of the most joyous events in human life, shouldn’ t be a stressful experience, especially for the bride. The bride comes first, and that’ s the mission statement for owner Lindsey Durham and the team at The Collective. Richmond’ s newest bridal boutique and event space is bringing a joyful and festive atmosphere to the Richmond Mall.
The Collective, a bridal boutique and event space, offers designer gowns and personalized service for brides. It also provides a bespoke event space for life’ s most significant moments. Lindsey Durham, the owner of The Collective, formerly known as Kiss the Bride bridal shop, and is the architect behind The Collective, the next chapter in their storied journey.
“ When the bride books her appointment to the time she walks down the aisle … When she’ s here, it’ s 100 % about her,” Durham said.
The Collective is the third chapter in a bridal business that has been part of Richmond’ s story for years. What began in a smaller space at the mall eventually moved into a larger location, where the business spent seven years before evolving once again into its current, largest space and becoming The Collective.
“ The Collective isn’ t just a new name for an old bridal shop. It’ s the next evolution of a business that already has a history in Richmond. I’ m incredibly proud that we’ re able to carry that history forward while creating something new,” Durham said.
Step inside and you’ ll be greeted by a striking and comforting shade of bridal white. Rows of designer bridal gowns, breathtaking veils, jewelry and bridal gear line the walls. There are three, private bridal suites that have stylish and comfortable seating, chandeliers, a bridal pedestal and oversized full-length mirrors for the bride and her party. Durham aimed to create a timeless aesthetic for the boutique, accentuated by stunning chandeliers, romantic decor, and personalized touches throughout the space. These elements were designed to make her brides and customers feel comfortable and like they are in a special, bespoke space.
That means letting them take their time picking out a dress. Durham and company can also help them find the right vendors in their wedding planning journey.
Planning a wedding is a significant undertaking. To support our brides, Durham emphasized the importance of utilizing the local community of trusted vendors and fostering a strong wedding network within Madison and surrounding counties. The“ Inner Collective” was created exclusively for their brides providing wedding vendor insights and exclusive discounts.
That network of support is what The Collective takes its name from. Durham has a long history working in the beauty industry, she sees this business as a collective of brides, families, local vendors, creatives, and the community in general. That time working in the beauty industry has left Durham with a keen eye for the fluid and ever-changing world of fashion and a passion for making women look and feel their most beautiful.
It means that she’ s always on the lookout for what the best and brightest
