destination. Damrell said the members of The Steeldrivers are all very close, because the only time they are apart is when they’re in their hotel rooms. He said they travel 90% of the time and the other 10% they’re actually performing. Damrell said that 10% is when they get to let their hair down and have a good time, the moments that they get to let loose. Despite his close relationship with his band members, Damrell said that he still misses his family. “It’s a drag for me to be away from them when I’m on the road,” he said. So, whenever they can come with him on his travels, they do. Damrell explained that his wife homeschools his oldest son, Levi James Damrell, and his youngest, Grady Lee Damrell, who just turned 2 in August, is too young to go to school. So they are able to come with him to dif- ferent shows and media days. “I’m having a great time doing this,” Damrell said. He explained he would rather be doing this than swinging a hammer any day. He is living the dream that he thought he should be living when he was 11 years old. “I’m a very cup-half-full type of fella,” Damrell said, “I see our future being explosive. Especially with the re- lease of the new album.” Damrell explained that The SteelDriver’s newest album “Bad For You” is the grittiest album they have released and he has high hopes for it. “I’m hoping for the best,” Damrell said.
