The Madison County School district is a public system, home to more than 12,000 students in preschool through twelfth grade, along with more than 2,000 employees. The district is made up of 11 elementary schools, five middle schools, two high schools, and one career and technical education center with two campuses, known as Ignite Academy North Campus and Ignite Academy South Campus. The Madison County Board of Education consists of five board members and Superintendent David Gilliam. Each member’ s division represents voting precincts in the county.
