The Madison County School district is a public system , home to more than 12,000 students in preschool through twelfth grade , along with more than 2,000 employees . The district is made up of 11 elementary schools , five middle schools , two high schools , and one career and technical education center with two campuses , known as Ignite Academy North Campus and Ignite Academy South Campus . The Madison County Board of Education consists of five board members and Superintendent David Gilliam . Each member ’ s division represents voting precincts in the county .

IGNITE ACADEMIES The Ignite Academies are designed to be a place where students learn specific vocational skills and trades while also giving back to the community .
