“ As Madison County Judge / Executive I am thrilled to share the exciting developments shaping our community in 2025 . Our county is experiencing significant growth and progress across various sectors , reflecting our commitment to enhancing the quality of life and making Madison County better for all residents ,” Judge Executive Reagan Taylor told the Richmond Register .
According to Taylor the region has taken “ substantial strides ” in improving local economic development efforts by establishing a regional industrial development authority and a regional business park in Berea .
Taylor says that this will attract new businesses , new industries , and foster

job creation and economic prosperity for the county .
“ Economic development is not something you can build , but something you do ,” said Taylor . “ We are excited to be proactively letting people know Madison County is open for business .”
Taylor told the Register that Madison County is experiencing notable growth , especially in Northern Madison County , and that the Fiscal Court is attempting to address this growth through proactive planning .
“ These plans aim to manage expansion sustainably , ensuring that our community thrives while ensuring we have the services our citizens need and deserve ,” said Taylor .
These plans include creating a fire station in Northern Madison County ,

bringing fire service to residents and businesses who have not previously been in a five mile distance of a fire station . This fire station is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2026 .
Additionally these plans for growth include the resurfacing and improvement of county roadways as well as various water and sewer infrastructure projects that are in development throughout the county .
The Broadband Expansion project is still ongoing as well , aiming to bring Internet to 6,000 residents . In a recent Fiscal Court meeting it was announced that more than 1,000 people have been granted internet access through the project , and that if pending permits were to be approved the rest of the expansion could be finished

in as little as 6 months - though at this time there is no confirmed end date for the project .
The Courthouse renovation , which began in 2023 , nears completion as well .
“ We are thrilled to see the community take great pride in the renovation of our historic Courthouse and the centerpiece of our downtown community ,” said Taylor .
The courthouse is planned to be completed by early Spring , and an open house and dedication ceremony will be held early this year so that the community can see the renovations , such as the new courtroom that was added .
“ These initiatives reflect our unwavering commitment to progress and the well-being of our residents . Together we are building a better Madison County ,” said Taylor .
