Our bicentennial gives us a reason to look at where we ’ ve come from – and also where we ’ re going . If you haven ’ t heard , Madison County is turning 200 in 2023 ! Marking this fantastic occasion has given us many great opportunities to celebrate the history of who we are as a county . And through these celebrations , we ’ ve been reacquainted with so many individuals that have made this county remarkable .
From presidential candidates and professional athletes to the unsung heroes of our community , Madison County has a lot to be proud of . And it ’ s with that in mind that we ’ ve dedicated this year ’ s Chamber directory to the people that make Madison County such a special place to live and work .
Our 20 under 40 list of honorees has given us the chance to highlight those individuals who are not only doing great things in the community already , but have shown the drive and ability to be community leaders for decades to come . Our business profiles have given our community the chance to learn more about the generational legacies that many of Madison County ’ s entrepreneurs have created .
And it ’ s not just this issue that has been dedicated to the people of our county . Coupled

with our strategic plan , we ’ ve used the bicentennial momentum to focus on a few core areas of improving economic opportunity for Madison County residents . We have been more active in workforce development in the last 12 months than ever before . We ’ re committing to guiding conversations with stakeholders |
on not only what our current needs are , but also what the needs of our community will be in 10 , 15 and 20 years from now . Additionally , we ’ ve taken a much more hands-on approach to the cultivation of our entrepreneurial base .
