downtown Anderson has become the city ’ s hub for weekend activities and nightlife .
Many business owners , artisans and others have breathed life into the downtown .
Among them is Daniel Hiles , who in the past four years , along with his wife Cali and several partners , has invested time and energy in the downtown .
The Hileses started Kettle Top Brewhouse in 2016 with dreams of owning and operating a complimentary brewery . By April 2019 , Hiles has brought that vision to fruition , as well as opening a cigar bar , just down the street from Kettle Top and the Creatures of Habit Brewery .
“ My wife and I would come downtown every year to Anderson on Tap , the brew fest ,” Hiles said . “ I loved it , it was a great space . It showcased the wonderful city we have , but there was no brewery .
