he Lessons She’s Learned In
Business That Have Impacted
How She Works Today
I was telling a friend of mine the other day—
one thing I have to consistently remind
myself is that it’s just business. You want
to be friendly and well-liked by everyone
and sometimes you forget that it is a
business and certain hard decisions have
to be made. You’re going to be told “No!”
sometimes and it’s not a personal attack
on you, your character or your personality.
It’s just business. That’s always been hard
for me because separating the two and
understanding that I need to get this job
done by any means necessary is key.
She Still Feels Like She Has To
Prove Herself
Every day in acting, I feel like I’m proving
myself—whether it’s going into auditions
and meeting with producers or directors. A
lot of people want to put you in a box, so
if you start as one thing, people just want
to see you as that. So, I started in radio

that once you get in the room, that’s up to
you. You’ve got to let your work speak for
itself. You have to be prepared and I do that
by coaching, working on the material and
just doing what I need to do to feel like I’m
giving myself a chance to really be taken
seriously and hopefully be considered for
the job.
Her Rules For Keeping Work Separate
From Her Personal Life
I just think that everyone knows what
their boundaries are and everything isn’t
for everybody. You know how much you
want to share or not share and I just do
what I’m comfortable with. There’s really
not much for me to share or tell so that’s
kind of the guideline that I follow
