PROTECT YOUR ENERGY . On the podcast I have a pillar called space and space is about setting up your life to support you . One of the things that I share about quite a bit is that clutter is a physical manifestation of chaos in the mind . As a creative , it ’ s really important that you have clarity , that your mind is clear . First , you have to be more selective about who you allow in your space . When my energy is off and I can ’ t get my mind clear , that impacts my money . The sooner I get my work done , the sooner I can submit my invoice . When the energy in my space is not in the right place , it impacts my money . When your car is a mess or you have piles of stuff on your desk or every time you need to find something and it ’ s a situation , it chips away at your energy . Every time you let simple things like that chip away at your energy , that ’ s less energy you have to put into your creative work . That ’ s less energy you have to do things that will actually produce income . That takes away from your wealth-building capacity .
Daily Affirmations For An Abundant Life
" I AM THE CEO OF MY LIFE ." When I was at my lowest point and I was scraping up change I went through this short season of where I wanted to blame the economy , blame the president , blame real estate , mortgage companies — whoever . One of the epiphanies I had was as long as I make it about them , how do I get back in control ? You can ’ t because you ’ re giving all the power away . I started thinking about people who lead companies and I believe we have to start treating our financial lives like a business . That means if you ’ re the CEO of your life , you ’ re responsible for it all . You ’ re responsible for the good and the bad , you ’ re responsible for the money moves , you ’ re responsible for the people that you hire , the people that you fire — you ’ re responsible for everything . I always remind myself that I am the CEO of my life because again culturally , I grew up in a culture that especially as a black woman we ’ re always the victim . I know that there are so many things that are set up against us — I know that ’ s true , but in the same respect , I started to give myself permission to say , “ You have to do all you can do on your end ” and then stand in that . I stand on ‘ I Am The CEO Of My Life ’ every day .
" I AM WHO I SAY I AM ." When I started calling myself “ America ’ s Money Maven ” I think I was teaching at Clark Atlanta University and someone asked , “ Who called you America ’ s Money Maven ?” I said , “ Me .” I am who I say I am . I told myself I ’ m going to call myself that until [ everyone ] calls me that and now they do . I meet people in the airport and they say , “ Hi , Money Maven !” They don ’ t even know my real name . So , I am who I say I am has been very powerful for me . I say it before I get on a stage , on television in particular . I get the mirror and I remind myself — you are America ’ s Money Maven .
" I WORK BECAUSE I WANT TO , NOT BECAUSE I HAVE TO ." I feel like when people feel like they just have to work , then they ’ ll take any job for money because it ’ s just about the money . My whole [ perspective ] on redefining wealth is about chasing purpose and not money . Saying “ I work because I want to and not because I have to ” is just a more empowering way of saying , “ I get to choose .” As a creative , it ’ s important to not take every job just because it pays . Take the jobs that truly align with your purpose and when you do that , you show up so much more powerfully and you bring a whole different energy than when you ’ re “ just going to work .” In the moment when you first start saying this affirmation , it ’ s like how can I keep saying this and it ’ s not true ? It ’ s not for it to be true in the moment , it ’ s what you are putting in the atmosphere . The more you say things , the more you just walk in that . What you verbalize , you magnetize to you .
