rely Evans is a water-walker whose faith
in God and belief in herself has led her
to a budding acting career and her most
recent role on OWN's new soap drama,
Ambitions. Some may call it serendipitous. Others
may call it fate, but what is clear is her undying
commitment to pursue the impossible and, bet on
herself.
MADE Can you share your journey as a creative
and an actress in Hollywood?
And he happened to be on his way to his
commercial agent's office and he said, “Just ride
with me.” My life changed that day because that
agent signed me on the spot. I didn't have a head
shot, an acting class -- nothing. She just said,
“You've been wasting your time and my money
because you should be on television. So she
starts sending me out on auditions immediately
and just says, “Here are the addresses.” And that's
kind of all I knew. So I would show up to the
addresses like, “Oh, say these lines? Oh OK.”
She also told me to count the “No’s” and on
my tenth audition, I happened to land a Twix
commercial. It’s history and after that, it just kept
going and kept going.
I just began to book commercials back-to-back
and then I ended up doing my Youtube channel,
BRELY I'm a singer first and I moved to L.A. to
go to college. At least that's what I told myself and I
was really looking for the music. My neighbor was
on a McDonalds commercial. And I was so excited
for him and I just celebrated him wildly, and he was
kind of like, “Why are you so excited? You have a
whole show. All I have is a commercial.” And I said,
“What are you talking about?” He was like, “I tell
everyone I live next door to that famous actor.”
And I said, “No! You must have lied to a lot of
people.”
