Carmelita Jeter
An inspiration on and off the track. Jeter is an American sprinter
with three Olympic medals and a world record. Growing up
in Compton and Gardena, California, she was determined to
utilize her natural athleticism to make an impact in the world.
Jeter was appointed as the Brand Ambassador for Susan G.
Komen’s California Initiative, “Circle of Promise.” Jeter graduated
California State University, signing with Dominguez Hills’ track
team and became the university’s first U.S. Olympic trials
qualifier and most decorated track and field athlete.
Kalika Yap

Kalika Yap is a Santa Monica-
based serial entrepreneur and
founder of Citrus Studios,
Luxe Link, the Tangerine
Co., the Lemonade Stand
and The Waxing Company.
She is well-known for
inventing the Luxe Link, a
fashion accessory that hangs women’s
purses to keep them off the floor.
But, giving back to the community is
what Yap is most proud of.. Yap is a
trustee of the Pacific Asia Museum in
Pasadena, California, and member of the
Entrepreneur’s Organization. Yap earned
her undergraduate degree in Broadcast
Journalism from New York University.
Helen Torres
Helen Torres is the Executive Director of Hispanas Organized
for Political Equality (HOPE). With more than 25 years
of alliance building, community relations, marketing, and
fundraising experience, her focus is promoting opportunities
that advance Latinas. Currently, Torres serves as an advisory
board member for LA Opinion, the nation’s largest Spanish
language newspaper, and as an advisor to Intuit and Southern
California Edison and Pacific Gas & Electric Company. She
earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication and master’s
degree in Urban Studies and Communication from Michigan
State University.

Paulina Lopez-Velazquez
Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, Paulina Lopez-Velazquez
is an momtrepreneur who took over her family’s
business, Guelaguetza Food Products, a popular Los Angeles
Restaurant. She is the co-producer of “Super Mamas Podcast”
a judgment-free space where mothers can exchange
knowledge and support one another. Lopez-Velazquez is also
a member of the Board of Directors of City Charter Schools in
Los Angeles.
