MADE : There are a lot of people putting out comedic content these days on social media . What is Dormtainment ’ s competitive advantage and why can ’ t it be copied ?
Cameron : Well first , I ‘ ll say we ’ re funny . One of the biggest advantages we have is that we ’ re a group . So , we filter out every idea and punch it up to the best of its ability and we have different viewpoints . We ’ re all different . We come with different angles too for a joke . I think us being in this group dynamic helps us out a lot .
MADE : How would you describe your creative process ?
Rome I would say it ’ s really organic . We make sure we try to live life . That ’ s where we get most of our skits from . Whether it ’ s going out , whether it ’ s something in-house where somebody is eating somebody ’ s food — anything that happens that we can take from a real-life situation and just enhance it and put our own spin on it . That ’ s usually where our comedy comes from most of the time . It ’ s just different stories that we have and we try to clip it and make it funny . It ’ s just organic ..
MADE : How do you guys keep churning out light-hearted content in a such a serious climate ?
Mike : We just always try to stay on top of what ’ s going on and getting through that we find real emotions that help us make skits . Like with “ Fuck Boy Walk ”— that came out of Amber Rose ’ s Slut Walk and it ’ s just our idea of what a version of that is . I feel like we can put our silliness on top of serious topics and people will still come out with something .
Amanuel : One thing I would say like with Rome , and pretty much what all the guys are saying , our perspective is very important . That ’ s just important comedy all coming from different places . So , all of us having different perspectives allows us to bounce off each other with real life stuff . And you know how with comedians they say it ’ s the sad clown effect . On the inside , they ’ re really mad or they ’ re down about the world or something about themselves and they pick that apart . We do the same , but we ’ re naturally silly and funny . You know , we ’ re just silly guys who make light of every situation . Constantly our minds are ticking and from our different perspectives . Obviously , one had to live a fuckboy lifestyle to actually understand the fuckboy lifestyle .
Rome : Speak for yourself . I ain ’ t ever live a fuckboy lifestyle . made-magazine . com | 44
